Relook & Refocus

December 3rd, 2009 § 0

As the year winds down, it’s time to take a breathe, take a look back on 2009, and make plans to refocus on 2010.

A lot of projects didn’t get through as I have planned for year 2009, but I wouldn’t say I have failed. I have put an extra high expectations for myself that I would say I am less successful rather than I have failed.

But I know, I did not give my best shot yet.

Now, I shall begin planning for the next year ahead and put my best effort out…

Invictus

November 23rd, 2009 § 0

Biographical & historic movies like Cinderella Man, A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart and many more have been my interest. This coming December, a new historical movie, Invictus will be released.

The story is about Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, his election as President of South Africa and his attempts to use the 1995 Rugby World Cup as a vehicle to bring his people together, after the fall of apartheid. Led by their captain Francois Pienaar, the South African team wins the tournament, upsetting the favourites New Zealand 15-12 in the final.

The bad news, I haven’t heard anything about the movie being released in Malaysia. :(

Malaysians, Happy 52nd National Day

August 31st, 2009 § 0

As we celebrate our 52nd National Day, I noticed two quotes from two famous people which is relevant for our country now.

“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

“We may have different religions, different languages, different coloured skin, but we all belong to one human race.” – Kofi Annan, former UN secretary-general

To all Malaysians, Happy National Day! Merdeka!

Lions & Leo Fiscal Year 2009-2010

July 14th, 2009 § 0

It has been 14 days past the new fiscal year for Lions & Leo Clubs.

I have been re-elected as the President for Leo Club of Tanjung Putra and it is not an easy task for me this fiscal year.

Moving towards the 3rd year, my club almost fell & closed down. I made & give myself a task… a task to REVIVE it…

2 weeks have passed since the fiscal year 2009-2010 started. I am very extremely happy & satisfied with the performance of the Tanjung Putrans.

We have successfully organized a Visit to Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya with TeamCity and our sponsoring Lions Club, New Century Lions Club of Tanjung Putra. The home is an orphanage & shelter for less-fortunate children. We donated RM2000 and some daily necessities for the home. Then we do some gardening for the home to make it a better place for the children. After that, we played some games with the children and they are extremely happy with it.

I Am Back

March 11th, 2009 § 0

I actually started my blog since 2006, but blogging was not my sole purpose then. I was just exploring about the blogging softwares especially Wordpress.

Since then, I was just exploring on the themes, the plugins, and everything else about the technical part of blogs. `

And recently, I have this feeling to start blogging again. Maybe I should start with very meaningful event, the Earth Hour.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.
